TIPS ON PROTECTING YOUR ACCOUNT, CARD AND PIN

  • Never disclose information about your card or bank account over the telephone, email, or online.
  • Take precautions to keep your PIN a secret and away from your card and other confidential banking information.
  • Verify transactions on your online banking account, mobile banking app, or account statement.
  • Take precautions when disposing of receipts.
  • Metal and magnetic materials could damage the magnetic stripe on your card.

ATM SAFETY TIPS

  • Use ATMs where you feel comfortable.
  • Have your card ready when you approach the ATM.
  • Shield the ATM keypad with your body or the other hand while entering your PIN so that others cannot see it.
  • Be especially cautious when strangers offer to help you, even if you are experiencing difficulty with the transaction.
  • In case you feel the ATM is not working normally, press the “Cancel” key and withdraw your card, then proceed to another ATM.
  • Do not use an ATM if you notice anything unusual indicating that the ATM may have been tampered with, altered, broken or damaged.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid ATMs in dark or remote areas or where people appear to be loitering.
  • Quickly put away your cash and wait until you are in a safe place to count your money.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or discrepancies as soon as possible.
