CPB Foundation Donates $11,000 to Moiliili Community Center to Help Cover the Cost of Damages Caused by Recent Break-in

HONOLULU, HI | December 8, 2021The Central Pacific Bank Foundation (CPB Foundation) has donated $11,000 to the Moiliili Community Center to help cover the costs of damages from a recent break-in and to purchase a new security system. The burglary, which occurred on November 19, 2021, caused nearly $9,000 in damages.

MOILIILI COMMUNITY CENTER

“The Moiliili Community Center is a treasured community resource that has been providing educational programs to keiki and essential services for kupuna for more than 120 years,” said Keith Amemiya, Executive Director, CPB Foundation. “We’re honored to make this donation to help with repairs and to create a safer and more secure environment, so that the organization can continue their focus on enriching the lives of the surrounding community.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to the CPB Foundation for its more than generous donation,” added Moiliili Community Center Executive Director Nadine Nishioka. “As a non-profit organization, we do not have a lot of money, we depend on grants and donations to fund our programs so the damage caused by the break-in will take away needed funds for our keiki and kupuna programs.”
