CPB announces new executive and managing committee members

Central Pacific Bank (CPB) today announced the promotion of three senior officers to serve on the Executive Committee (EC), the group that guides the company’s strategy and makes key decisions regarding its operation. The three new EC members include Anna Hu, executive vice president and chief credit officer; Kisan Jo, executive vice president, Retail Markets and Operations; and Diane Murakami executive vice president, Commercial Markets.

In addition, Jason Lazzerini, executive vice president and chief digital officer; Dayna Matsumoto, group senior vice president and controller; Susan Utsugi, group senior vice president and Business Banking division manager; and Bob Yee, group senior vice president and Branch Banking division manager will join the bank’s Managing Committee.

All appointments took effect Jan. 1, 2023.

“I am pleased to announce the appointments of such talented and dedicated leaders into key executive roles for the bank, all of whom have a proven track record of exceptional customer service and delivering on our business objectives for the benefit of our employees, customers and the community,” said Arnold Martines, Central Pacific Bank president and CEO.

Anna Hu, executive vice president and chief credit officer, is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the bank’s credit risk in the loan portfolios. In her role, she also has oversight of Credit Administration, Credit Services, Special Assets, Retail Loan Collections and Recoveries, Real Estate Owned Assets, and Enterprise Risk Management. Hu has 30 years of professional financial experience, including over 13 years with CPB. She is a proud graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and graduated with honors from Pacific Coast Banking School.


Kisan Jo
, executive vice president, Retail Markets and Operations, has oversight of the bank’s branch network, Call Center, Deposit and Loan Operations, Consumer Lending and Client Experience. Jo, who began at CPB in Jan. 2022, has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and brings exceptional customer service skills that align with CPB’s impeccable client experience standards. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii Shidler School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of the West Indies. 

Diane Murakami, executive vice president, Commercial Markets, is responsible for the strategic direction of the Commercial Markets Group, which includes Commercial, Business and Corporate Banking, and Cash Management. Murakami has 30 years of experience in the financial industry. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Loyola Marymount University and graduated with honors from Pacific Coast Banking School. 

Jason Lazzerini, who joined CPB in Oct. 2022, is the newest member of the team and serves as the bank’s executive vice president and chief digital officer. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the financial services sector focusing on topline growth and digital transformation. Lazzerini is proud to have graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Banking School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Northern Illinois University.

Dayna Matsumoto, group senior vice president and controller, has oversight of the Controllers, Quantitative Risk Management, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury and Business Continuity/Vendor Management areas of the bank. Matsumoto has nearly 20 years of accounting, audit, and finance experience, 16 of those years with CPB. She is a graduate of University of Hawaii at Manoa where she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Master of Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. 




Susan Utsugi
, group senior vice president and division manager of Business Banking, has more than 30 years of banking experience, 22 of which have been with CPB. Her exemplary work and leadership have been recognized numerous times by the U.S. Small Business Administration, as well as by receiving media and community awards. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Seattle University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. 


Bob Yee, group senior vice president and division manager for Branch Banking, joined CPB in 2007. He leads the Branch Banking Division with the core market differentiation of superior customer service and adoption of the digital first approach. Yee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Dartmouth College; a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii, Manoa; and graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Banking School.
