Kumabe has over 25 years of business experience, with 15 years specifically dedicated to executive search, human resource consulting and staffing. Her impressive credentials, exceptional skill, and commitment to the success of her clients has resulted in a loyal and growing base of clients who trust her to execute their human resources and executive search needs.

Kumabe’s business, Kumabe HR, provides executive search, staffing (permanent and temp-to-hire), and human resource consulting across the state. The business was created as a response to a tremendous need for executive-level recruitment and human resource expertise for Hawaii organizations, spanning the government, non-profit and private sectors.

Kumabe HR Meeting

Kumabe HR offers an integrated suite of leadership advisory services in developing framework and solutions that are customized around organizational objectives and human resource capability needs.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, staffing and recruitment business were given the tall task of supporting the large number of candidates who were affected by mass layoffs statewide, all while scrambling to support staffing requirements for maximum PPP-forgiveness, then shifting to a swing in demand for temporary workers as the economy gradually crept back to full employment. Staffing shortages due to quarantine rules also presented new challenges for firms like Kumabe HR to fill positions for already short-staffed companies on an immediate emergency basis.

Kumabe and her team have not only met these challenges head-on, but have thrived in this "new normal," increasing revenues, profits, and number of employees for companies across the state.
