A legacy of safety and service.
Our story begins 70 years ago, with a group of determined young nisei veterans. These brave individuals were not only fighting for their country, but also for their rights and opportunities to achieve parity in their own community. This group regularly met under the banyan trees at Ala Moana Beach Park with a common goal of establishing a bank that would cater to the needs of all people in Hawaii. And that's exactly what they did. From our humble beginnings, we proudly carry on the mission of our forefathers to serve all of Hawaii's people with care and aloha.
